Italian Bars

I absolutely love italian bars.  They are probably one of my favorite places to pass the day and no i'm not talking about bars that serve alcohol.  I am talking about the italian coffee bars.  I go to the same one almost every day.  The main guy who runs it now knows me and gives me the cappuccino for only 1euro even when I sit outside to steal the neighboring apartments internet.  Thats the only downside to the bars is that they charge different prices if you stand up and drink coffee at the bar or if you sit down but then again its still cheaper than starbucks.  The coffee is way better too, of course.  There is nothing like italian coffee.  If french say their coffee is great they are lying.  I don't even think they have heard about espresso.  You can also get panninis and snacks at the bars and its all pretty affordable.  The bars are a great place to go for a cheap meal on the go.

Back in Roma!

And I am so happy to be back! Things are already going well. I am
sorta working for the family I nannied for in France. I am picking the
girl up from school and watching her back at the house. I also had an
interview this morning for a full time nanny job. And the moms father
just happens to be a notable roman historian so if I get the job it
would help me out a whole bunch with actually getting a job to do with
my major. So that's a plus.

The other night I went to this place called bencivenga. It's an
anarchist squat where we saw a punk show. Alexs friend Dave ended up
performing and blew everyone away. The stage was completely empty and
then this blond American gets up on stage and rocks the whole show. It
was absolutely amazing. The anarchists were also super nice. I feel
like my Italian skills improved just from that night which was a plus.
We may be going to another show tonight since Dave is playing again.
It's quite different from my usual roman activites but so much fun!
